Day trip to Northern Zealand countryside with majestic highlights of the King Hamlets castle at Kronborg is an experience filled with stunning views of the Danish landscape, powerful coastal scenery and fascinating stories of the glorious past of the Danes.
We will start our day by a delightful drive along the inviting and open coastline towards Northern Zealand. The area, known as the old playground of the Danish royalty north of Copenhagen features deep woodlands and a charming seaside habitat.
Upon arrival to the 15th century Kronborg Castle, we will get to enjoy a guided tour of this magnificent complex once a royal residence and an army garrison. The fortress still plays a significant role in the Danish history as the home of sleeping legend, Holger the Dane.
Leaving the unique seaside setting of Elsinore behind, we will now pay a visit to the lavish gardens and enjoy a guided tour of the Frederiksborg Castle. The castle is surrounded by a charming little town of Hillerod, making it the ideal location to enjoy some free time for a lunch break at a local cafe or ´a spot of shopping.
Thereafter we will continue through the countryside on a relaxing drive back towards Copenhagen with a photo stop at the Fredensborg Castle to take the most out of the day of exploring the beautiful Danish landscape.
Upon return to town the tour comes to an end at the cruise port.

After a short walk through the old town center filled with inviting cafés on cobbled streets, Christiansborg Palace offers an outstanding experience by visiting the Royal Reception Rooms & Queens Tapestries. The palace has an 800 year-long history as the state’s center of power and the very place where Queen Margaret II of Denmark was proclaimed the next ruler of one of the oldest monarchies in the world.
Our day of enjoying the delightful atmosphere of this Scandinavian treasure comes to an end with a panoramic drive back to the cruise port or if wished, at your hotel or in time for your flight at the airport.
