Exploring the Norwegian capital city is a real treat to the eyes with the beautiful Oslo fjord and magical green hills surrounding this 1000-year trading port.

We will start the tour with a wonderful introduction to the captivating Viking heritage and Nordic culture on a panoramic drive along the waterfront.

The historic center of Oslo is surrounded by striking modern architecture in a lovely coexistence with the longstanding landmarks of the city. We will see the contemporary lines of Oslo Opera & Ballet building, admire the medieval Akershus Castle and Oslo Cathedral.

Thereafter we will enjoy a stroll down the main walking street of Karl Johan with grand structures of the Parliament building, National Theatre, Oslo University and the City Hall.

We will reserve some free time for shopping or a coffee break before heading towards the Vigeland Sculpture Park. The ingenious bronze, iron and stone sculptures of Gustav Vigeland tell the story of the circle of life in a very warm and touching way regardless of the cold material used.

We will now continue on a panoramic sightseeing drive towards the scenic Bygdoy peninsula. A visit to the Viking Ship Museum will lead us on an extraordinary journey back to the days of fearless Nordic warriors. We will tour the collection of worlds best preserved burial ships and learn of their impressive voyages over the horizon in full sail.

Our day of touring ends with a return transfer back to the cruise port.

This is a wonderfully comprehensive half-day tour covering Oslo historic and cultural highlights.

Please note, the order of visits in the itinerary may change depending on the ship schedule of the day.
