Russian Writers in St Petersburg Tour is a walking tour, the itinerary of which follows some of the  addresses of literature characters of Feodor Dostoevsky, Nikolay Gogol, Alexander Pushkin and others. 

If you are interested in the Russian classical literature, you may recognize title names such as «Bronze Horseman», «Crime and Punishment», «Idiot». Let’s walk St Petersburg streets together and learn some of the city literature history of the 19th century.

We shall explore:

Where literature characters used to live?

What was behind the idea of certain addresses?

Is there a connection between fantasies and real life of writers?

Which mysteries are hidden in literature works? 

What was it like to live and write in St Petersburg?

We will be answering these and other questions during our literature walk downtown St Petersburg.

Itinerary:

  • Meet your guide at Palace Square, near the Alexander Column at 11:00.
  • Walking along the Nevsky Prospect, the city main street, we will remember how Russian writers used to describe the city famous avenue.
  • Among the stops there will be several addresses of Alexander Pushkin’s characters.
  • Dostoevsky is another world famous St Petersburg writer. He used to rent many apartments of St Petersburg. Some of them are along our tour itinerary. We shall also visit the courtyard of the apartment house where Rodion Raskolnikov, the main character of Dostoevsky’s Crime and Punishment, used to live.
  • The tour ends at Sennaya Ploschad, one of the central city metro stations, from where you can continue to explore the city or return to your hotel.
