Catherine Palace and Pavlovsk Palace tour is not to be missed, if you are interested in the Russian royal history.

On your visit to two former royal homes, Catherine Palace and Pavlovsk Palace, you will learn about the history of Russia’s Imperial family as well as enjoy breathtaking baroque and classical interiors of these residences.

Itinerary:

  • Meet your guide at the reception of your hotel at the agreed pick-up time to start your Catherine Palace and Pavlovsk Palace tour.
  • Travel to the suburb of Tsar’s Village (also known as Pushkin), which is located in the suburbs within a one hour drive from St Petersburg.
  • Visit Catherine Palace, which was comissioned in the 18th century by Empress Elizabeth I, who treated it with special affection and named the palace after her mother, Catherine. There you will see halls decorated in gold and mirrors as well as the famous Amber Room.
  • Take a short transfer to the suburb of Pavlovsk.
  • Visit Pavlovsk Palace, which was built at the turn of the 19th century as a present to Emperor Paul I from his mother, Catherine the Great. Pavlovsk boasts a fine neo-classical palace as well as a large landscape park.
  • Travel back to St Petersburg for approximately one hour.
