The Hermitage Museum tops the to-do list of most visitors coming to St Petersburg. Some even visit it two or more times. It is not surprising as the Hermitage boasts some three million artworks, making to of the world best-known museums. With no exception the Hermitage Museum tour is a must do for all the visitors in St Petersburg.

Itinerary:

  • Meet your guide at the Alexander Column on Palace Square at 12:00 or 15:00. Please note, the summer morning tour might be run as an early admissions tour which means customers enter the museum before it opens to the general public. The early admission option is not available during pandemic restrictions period. We currently run our morning and afternoon tour as a skip-the-line tour with pre-booked admissions included.
  • Start your tour of the Hermitage Museum, where you will visit reception halls of the Winter Palace, a former royal residence, and view the highlights of the Western European art collection including the works of da Vinci, Titian, Rafael, Velasquez, Michelangelo, Rembrandt, Rubens and many others.
  • After the highlights tour is over, you can stay in the museum and continue exploring on your own.

Know before you go:

  • If you choose to walk to the meeting point on your own, please, make sure you know how to get there. The Alexander Column is hard to miss as it is right in the centre of Palace Square. You will not able to take a taxi to the meeting point as Palace Square is for pedestrians only.
  • From 1 October to 31 March you will receive a complimentary ticket to the Impressionists’ Collection in the General Staff Building. From April 1 to September 30 the Impressionists’ Collection is not included in the regular price.
  • Luggage or large bags are not allowed in the museum.
  • It is recommended to wear comfortable walking shoes.
  • The Hermitage is wheelchair accessible.

  • Visa-free service-documentation needed to disembark a cruise ship without a Russian visa. The visa-free add-on is charged per group of up to 6 PAX with a minimum booking of 2 PAX. It includes a return transfer from the port and back.
  • Impressionist Collection — see the Hermitage’s collection of Modern European Art, the bulk of which is made up of French impressionist and post-impressionist paintings.
  • The Treasure Gallery — a collection of stunning jewellery item, many were previously in the possession of the royal family. The Treasure Gallery visit is arranged as a group visit and only in English.
