Hermitage - the face of Russian Revolution
This is a walking & public transport group tour to the Smolny Institute which currently serves as the St Petersburg government. It was the cradle of the Soviet revolution and a headquarters for the Bolshevik party. Vladimir Lenin worked and lived there. Visit Lenin’s room and study, learn more about the USSR.
Itinerary:
Meet your guide at your hotel reception at 11:00 am.
You will then head out to Smolny Institute by bus or another mode of public transport. Along the way learn about the origins of the Soviet revolution, who Lenin and Stalin were and what brought about the end of the Imperial family.
In the Smolny Institute, you will visit several halls and studies. The focus of the tour will be the persona of Lenin — his childhood, education, life in exile and victorious return to Russia.
Afterwards, you will visit the Smolny Cathedral which once housed the first private girl’s school in the country.

Smolny is an official government building, you need to take your passport with you.
It is recommended to wear comfortable walking shoes.
